NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF NUTRITION, HYDERABAD, TELANGANA, INDIA
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the historic city of Hyderabad on this historic occasion of the beginning of the Centenary Year Celebrations of India’s premier nutrition research institute – the National Institute of Nutrition.
Established way back in 1918 during the colonial times, the Institute has in fact kept itself and its research ever-relevant to the nutrition needs of the country. Through its varied roles as a repository of nutrition profile data, as the generator of Indian food composition data tables, as the scientific body that determined the Recommended Dietary Allowances for Indians (RDAs) and as the harbinger in Nutrition research in India, NIN has always been balancing the lab-based, clinical and community nutrition research to promote public health in India. NIN has attained a global recognition in nutrition sciences and now poised to complete its Centenary year soon. On this occasion, NIN plans to organize three international conferences between November 2017 and November 2017. The present conference is the first in the series. The Institute and the research fraternity welcome you to be part of the interesting deliberations during this historic event.
The city of Hyderabad which is a medley of cultures presents a great blend of tradition and modernity and has emerged as an extraordinarily fast growing technology and science hub of India. The city offers an Idyllic backdrop to the power packed scientific sessions that we have planned out. I assure you that this will certainly be a memorable and momentous occasion and you will go back with not only great memories but also a lot of new insights into science.
I heartily welcome fellow researchers, students, practitioners, policy makers, industry and all stakeholders to NIN for the centenary celebrations.
